Dear GLA students and parents,
We appreciate your support and effort in upholding our dress code policy this school year!
Please note, students who are out of uniform will receive a level 1 write-up each day they are out of uniform.
2023-2024 Dress Code Policy Memorandum
Acceptable
GLA logo clothing/uniforms
- Girls
- Navy blue, white, light blue or burgundy polo shirt/turtleneck
- Navy blue, black or khaki pants/shorts
- Navy blue, black or khaki skirt/jumper
- Navy blue, white, light blue or burgundy sweater or sweatshirt
- Boys
- Navy blue, white, light blue or burgundy polo shirt/turtleneck
- Navy blue, black or khaki pants
- Black or brown belt
- Navy blue, white, light blue or burgundy sweater or sweatshirt
- Earrings – modest sized
- Shoes – fully enclosed (toe and heel area)
- Tennis shoes
- Boots
- Crocs can be worn in “sport mode” only
Free dress Fridays require a coupon from the homeroom teacher. If a coupon is not given on Thursday, uniforms must be worn on Friday.
- Hoodies: they must be in school colors, and must NOT cover heads (students will be asked to remove the garment after a warning)
- Jackets and coats cannot be worn in-doors. Please make sure that your child has a sweater/sweatshirt or hoodie to keep him/her warm while inside.
Unacceptable
- Ripped/torn/holes in clothing that reveal skin
- Sagging pants
- Hair bonnets, scarves, or ball caps
- Shirts with inappropriate language or offensive logos
- Overalls
- Pajamas
- Sweatpants or track suits
- Leggings
- Basketball shorts
- Sheer tops, shirts with exposed mid-drift or tops with low neck lines
- Fishnet hosiery
- House slippers
- High heels
- Shoes with wheels
- Flip flops, sandals, or slides
